Questions & answers

A little clarity before you start.

Understand the research workflow, simulation limits, credits and access to strategy evidence.

Questions about strategy research
01

Research first

Stratmill helps develop and evaluate strategy ideas. It does not promise that a strategy will be profitable.

02

Costs and credits

AI work is metered in credits. Review the pricing page for plan allowances, concurrent runs and paper slots.

03

Evidence and access

Public strategy reports are available to browse. Source-code access and marketplace subscriptions follow their access rules.

A backtest is not a prediction.

Historical tests and paper trading are simulations. Market conditions, liquidity and execution can differ in the future. Examine assumptions and evidence carefully and make your own decisions.

  1. Historical

    Backtests examine past data.

  2. Simulated

    Paper strategies observe incoming data.

  3. Restricted

    Real execution requires separate authorization.

More questions and answers
Does every idea become a strategy?

No. Data limitations, failed checks, poor economics or review findings can cause a run to iterate or be abandoned.

Can I inspect public examples first?

Yes. Browse public strategies and their available reports before opening your own workspace. Marketplace code access depends on the publisher and your access rights.

Does a good backtest guarantee future returns?

No. Backtests are hypothetical and sensitive to data, assumptions and selection. Validation helps investigate weaknesses; it does not eliminate trading risk.

Are the fees live quotes for my account?

No. They are configured simulation defaults. Your exchange tier and instrument rules may differ. Review the assumptions before interpreting the result.

Are all thresholds automatic hard blocks?

No. The implementation distinguishes hard validity checks, reviewable quality criteria and advisory findings. Some new criteria are introduced in advisory mode.

Does release approval remove investment risk?

No. A recorded review is a process control, not a promise of returns or a guarantee against loss.

Does every research market support paper trading?

No. Research coverage, live data browsing and paper execution are different capabilities. Availability depends on the venue and enabled execution path.

Is paper trading the same as live trading?

No. Real orders can face different liquidity, latency, fills and operational constraints. Paper performance is hypothetical.

Where do I start?

Create an account and describe your idea in your workspace. You can inspect public strategies and market pages before signing in.

What do plan limits mean?

Active-run limits control concurrent research work. Paper slots control admitted paper strategies. Monthly credits and daily launch limits are separate constraints.

Start with a question worth testing.

Explore published strategies, or open a workspace to build, test and monitor your own with AI agents.

Stratmill is an AI trading strategy platform, not financial advice or a broker. Backtest and paper results are hypothetical. Trading involves risk of loss.
