Finding Forex APIs with Second-Level or Faster Quotes

Article Quant Q&A · Author: yemy

Summary

The document asks where to obtain real-time foreign exchange data at intervals shorter than one minute, including buy and sell quotes and recent trades. It notes that the questioner’s searches of two data services found a one-minute minimum, then gathers several brief community suggestions for alternative providers.

One response cautions that second-level feeds generally require a paid subscription or premium account. Another describes a service as updating sub-second and providing many quotes per minute; additional replies name two other possible sources but give little supporting detail. The material is a short list of leads rather than a comparison or technical evaluation. It does not establish coverage, latency, historical data access, pricing, or reliability, and it gives no independent evidence that the suggested services meet a particular trading use case.

Key ideas

  • The question concerns forex quotes and trades at intervals shorter than one minute.
  • The responses suggest several possible data providers.
  • One answer says higher-frequency access commonly requires a paid or premium account.

I wanted to get sell, buy and recent trades of a currency in intervals of seconds but was only able to find APIs which offer a minimum interval of one minute (I checked Polygon and Alpha Advantage). Is there anything available to obtain real-time forex data in seconds, or is there nothing?
