MACD Crossover Strategy with Fixed Point Stops and Targets

Article TradingView scripts

Summary

This strategy uses the standard MACD (12, 26, 9) crossover to generate directional trades, with settings for long-only, short-only, or both directions. A crossover above the signal line opens a long position; a crossunder opens a short. The opposite crossover can close an open position, and each position also receives a stop loss set a fixed number of points from its average entry price.

The take-profit is optional and, when enabled, is also set at a fixed point distance. The script describes use with VN30F1M index futures and displays the active stop and target levels on the chart. No backtest results or performance evidence are provided. The point-based risk settings may need adjustment for the instrument and timeframe, and the simple crossover rules do not include additional trend, volatility, or market-condition filters.
