Plotting a Higher-Timeframe Period Open Price

Article MQL5 code base

Summary

This indicator displays the opening price of a selected timeframe as a line on a chart using another timeframe. A single timeframe setting controls which period’s open is shown. The examples illustrate higher-period opens overlaid on lower-period charts, including H4 on M30, D1 and W1 on H4, and MN1 on W1.

The note explains the indicator’s display behavior but gives no trading rules, interpretation guidance, or evidence that period opens predict price movement. It is a charting aid for viewing a reference price across timeframes, and its usefulness depends on how a trader incorporates that level into a separate analysis or strategy.
