Practitioner-Oriented Books for Mathematical FX Options Modeling
Summary
The document answers a request for mathematically rigorous foreign-exchange modeling references that also reflect a practitioner quant perspective. Its recommendations focus on books about pricing FX options, modeling smile risk, and valuing structured products. Together, these topics point readers toward the distinctive pricing and risk issues that arise in currency options markets.
The recommendations are personal suggestions rather than a comparative review: the answer gives no discussion of specific techniques, mathematical prerequisites, or evidence for ranking the books. It also refers readers to an external answer, so the document is best treated as a short reading list and a starting point for further research. Its scope is FX options modeling rather than all forms of FX forecasting or currency-market analysis.
Key ideas
- The suggested references center on pricing foreign-exchange options and structured products.
- One recommendation specifically addresses smile risk in FX options.
- The document offers practitioner-oriented reading suggestions rather than explaining a modeling method.
- The list is brief and does not compare the books' mathematical depth or coverage.

The book FX Options and Structured Products by Uwe Wystup is also good.
