Understanding SQ ASW in Australian Bond Spread Listings
Summary
The post asks what “SQ ASW” means in a list of Australian bond issuances and how to determine its value to calculate a bond's total price or yield. The author gives BBSW plus a stated spread as a familiar comparison and asks whether “ASW” refers to a particular time period in the same way that BBSW is often specified with a three-month tenor.
The document contains no answer, definition, valuation method, or data for resolving the notation. It is a terminology question about bond spread conventions, so it may help identify a point that needs clarification when reading issuance listings, but it does not teach how to price the bond or establish the applicable reference tenor. Interpretation would require the listing's source or documentation, which the post does not include.
Key ideas
- The author asks what SQ ASW denotes in an Australian bond issuance listing.
- They want to know how its value contributes to the bond's quoted spread or total pricing.
- The post asks whether ASW is tied to a specified reference tenor, as BBSW often is.
- No definition, pricing procedure, or tenor convention is supplied.

# Bond spreads - SQASW # Bond spreads - SQASW I posted this question in the finance/economics arm but someone suggested this would be a more relevant place. I have attached a photo of a list of bond issuance's in Australia. Could someone please tell me what sqasw means? and how do I find what the value of sqasw is so I can find the total price of the bond? For example when it says BBSW +150 I know the total price of the bond will be around 3.19%. And secondly does asw have a specific reference to a time period? Ie with BBSW it usually says 3mBBSW, does the same apply for SQ ASW?
