Using OctoBot Paper Trading to Test Strategies with Simulated Funds

Article OctoBot

Summary

This article introduces paper trading as a way to run strategies in live market conditions against a virtual portfolio. It describes using simulated funds to explore strategies before committing capital and to continue experimenting without risking real funds. The OctoBot workflow is to create an account, select strategies, choose paper trading and a simulated portfolio, then monitor the bot through the cloud service or app. The article says exchange credentials are not needed for this paper-trading setup.

The discussion concerns access and workflow rather than strategy design or evaluation. It refers to historical results accompanying strategies but presents no specific test results, performance measures, or details on how simulated execution compares with live fills, fees, or slippage. Paper trading can help users observe a strategy under live conditions, but the article does not establish that simulated outcomes will carry over to real trading. Its claims about the service's availability describe OctoBot's offering at publication time.
