Each tile is one underlying: area is total open interest (how much positioning sits there), colour is net call-versus-put open interest — green when calls dominate, red when puts do. Country and region tiles are options on US-listed ETFs tracking those markets, not contracts listed on the local exchange; no free feed carries HKEX, Eurex, TSE, NSE or KRX chains.

ATM implied volatility is measured at the strikes straddling spot on the nearest expiry beyond five days, so it is comparable across underlyings at very different price levels. Skew is the 10%-out put IV minus the 10%-out call IV: index skew is persistently positive because crash protection costs more, while single-stock skew is typically flat. Term slope is the far-minus-near ATM IV — negative means the market is pricing near-term stress. Quotes are 15 minutes delayed.

Correlation of DAILY CHANGES in ATM implied volatility, not of the levels — levels are all high together in a crisis, which tells you nothing you did not already know. Only dates where both underlyings have a snapshot count toward a pair. This series is forward-only from the day options collection started, so the window is still short; grey cells are pairs with too little shared history to judge.
