Hypothesis
A minimalist long-only trend-following strategy on LINKUSDT perpetual futures using daily bars and the classic Donchian channel breakout system. The strategy enters long when the daily close breaks above the highest close of the prior N days (entry channel) and exits when the daily close falls below the lowest close of the prior M days (exit channel, where M < N for asymmetric trailing). LINK is a top-15 crypto by market cap with deep Binance USD-M futures liquidity, large idiosyncratic moves driven by oracle/DeFi narratives, and clean trending behavior on the daily timeframe. The system has only 2 parameters (entry_lookback=20, exit_lookback=10), uses pure price action with no supplementary data, and trades infrequently (~10-15 signals per year) — making it both robust to overfitting and verification-friendly (no funding/OI/ratio dependencies that bog down synthetic data generation).
Backtest and paper results are hypothetical. Trading involves risk of loss.
