Importing strategies
Bring your own code from another platform, and how Stratmill learns from public strategies elsewhere.
Import your own strategy
Import strategy takes the source code of a strategy you own or may use, from another platform. The Strategy Developer translates its written rules to Stratmill and lists every place where the port has to differ, verification checks it, and you decide where it goes next. Importing never places live orders.
Supported platforms
Accepted sources are TradingView Pine Script, Freqtrade, Jesse, backtrader, QuantConnect LEAN (Python or C#), MetaTrader 4 and 5, FMZ (JavaScript, Python or Pine), vn.py CTA strategies and Hummingbot scripts, up to 20 files. The platform is detected automatically and you can correct it; nothing is executed during detection. Imports can target Binance, Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid perpetuals or spot, US equities and spot gold, on 1m to 1d bars.
Private import and consent
Before an import you accept the strategy import terms and confirm the code is your own or that you may use it. Your original code is stored privately: it is shown to no one, never published, never returned by the interface, and read only by the agents porting and reviewing it. Other users cannot see your imports.
How the port is checked
The port passes the usual verification layers, and the QA review also judges whether it is faithful to the original. For Freqtrade, Jesse, backtrader and vn.py the original can also be re-run in its own engine, in an isolated sandbox without network access, over the last 180 days of Stratmill's bars.
Compare with trades from your platform
Optionally upload the trade list your platform produced: a TradingView trade export, Freqtrade results, QuantConnect orders or a MetaTrader 5 report. Stratmill backtests the port over the same window and compares trades: 2 trades match when they have the same side and their entries are within 1 bar, and the port counts as aligned when at least 90% of trades match in both directions.
Where the strategy goes next
After verification you choose the destination: continue through the full pipeline, open it in the Backtest Lab, run a single backtest and admit it to paper trading, or run a single backtest and wait for your live sign-off.
Import price
An estimate is shown before you start. Verification, the parity backtest and the engine re-run each have a fixed credit price, and the agents' porting and review work is charged per call. The import needs a balance that covers the estimate.
Strategies from other platforms
Stratmill's own research also studies public material from other platforms: FMZ, QuantConnect, TradingView, Hummingbot, QuantRocket, Jesse, vn.py, TqSdk, Myquant, Freqtrade and other open-source projects and papers. Open-source strategies whose licence allows it are ported into the platform's research, and articles and write-ups are distilled into hypotheses. Every such strategy credits its platform, title, author and source link, and is tested like any other idea.
